Hyland wields axe
May 02, 2012

Cavan senior football manager Terry Hyland
New Cavan manager Terry Hyland has axed six players from his squad.
Hyland has made an immediate impact on the squad since taking over from Val Andrews, who was dismissed last month and he has cut Ciaran Galligan, Colin Courtney, Michael Brennan, Sean McCormack, James McDonald and Declan Meehan from the squad.
Having worked with the under-21 squad, it is no surprise that Hyland has turned to some of those players with two-goal All-Ireland semi final full forward Kevin Tierney being brought in.
Joining Tierney on the squad are John McCutcheon, Killian Clarke, Jason McLoughlin, Fergal Flanagan and talented youngster Jack Brady.
Cavan face Donegal in the preliminary round of the Ulster Championship in three weeks time.
