Ladies GAA : Cornafean Ladies played Arva on Saturday last in a nine aside game. It was a tough and closely faught game from start to finish with Cornafean winning on a score line of 3-11 to 1-13. Shannon Laheen and Aoife Miney played well in defense while Orla Smith and Catherine Sheridan were on fire up front. Cait Masterson, Shannon Laheen, Edel Sheridan, Aoife Miney, Siobhan King, Deirdre Tully, Roisin Martin, Catherine Sheridan, Orla Smith. Subs used Aihling Smith for Siobhan King.
Horse Racing: It's that time of the year again for all horse racing pundits. Cornafean GFC proudly present our annual race night which will be held on 25th September in McSeain's. With all our fabulous facilities this is the clubs annual fund raising night. Race cards are available from Paddy McDermot, Pauric Cosgrove,Neal Tully and Brian McCaffrey. A big push is needed by all club members to sell horses to help pay for the new training facilities.
GAA : Cornafean junior team were lucky to come away with a draw on Sunday against Shannon Gales in the 3A semi-final. In a game where the Reds kicked an incredible 24 wides and still come away with a draw a major improvement needed for the nest day.
Meeting in the Sports Hall Thursday night at 9pm. All Members please attend.
Lotto : There was no winner of this weeks lotto. Jackpot now stands at €3900. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 25 and 27. The €40 winners were Mary Brady, Cloncose; Hugh Brady, Drumgoon; Amy Sheridan, wateraughey; Marian & Norman, Top of the Town; Geraldine Vanghan.
