Mullahoran GFC Notes

Mullahoran had a great run of success at the Anglo Celt Media Awards in the Kilmore on Friday night last. Michael Brady picked up the media award for 'Referee of the Year'. Domnic Crudden picked up an award for 'Hurler of the Year' and James Brady picked up the award for 'Handballer of the Year'.

On the night Paul Brady picked up a special award on winning his third consecutive world title last year and Sean Hughes of Erne Eagles rounders team picked up a special award for his contribution to rounders in Cavan. What a great success for the local club in being associated with five media awards. Not a bad start to 2010.

Soccer Tournament
The soccer tournament final took place on Saturday evening seeing Tomás Nannerys team overall winners. Tomás's team included Tomás 'Nimble Feet' Nannery, Barry 'The Rock' McArdle, Sean 'The Stopper' Briody, Daniel 'Speedy' Smith and Daniel 'The Chopper' King. Damien McArdle was also a team member but due to injury could not play on Saturday. Rumour has it lads that a number of ye will be following a career across the water. Well done on a great success.Thanks to all teams for taken part and thanks to Aidie Sheridan and Aiden Smith for running the tournament over the 4 weeks.

Congratulations to the Mullahoran Senior Team who beat Ederney of Fermanagh in Trillick, Fermanagh on Sunday last with a score of 2.12 to 2.07. Mullahoran have now made their way into the quarter final stages were they will meet White Cross of Armagh next Sunday in Armagh. Well done lads.

If you have any old cars, machinery or material that made of steel and are willing to donate it the club we have arranged a skip at Mullahoran G.F.C which has been available since last Saturday.

Any large items like cars etc can be picked up for you at your convience. If you want us to pick it up so please contact Terry Brennan 086 2159200 or any committee members. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

The county Scór finals took place in the Mullahoran Communtiy Hall on Saturday evening last. A great night was had by all. Well done to John and Anne Dowd for their organisation of the event which made the night a great success.

The national football league pools. "predict the national league results each week. €3 to enter. There was no pool draw last week because of no games National league games. Cards on sale for this weekend. From any of the players, 3 euro to enter, prize money is 100 euro this week. Predict the National Football leagues results for this weekend.

Jigs and reels Is back! It's going to be bigger and better In 2010. Keep the Bank Holiday Easter Sunday night the 4th of April free and see the hot steppers take to the stage. This year It will be held In the Hotel Kilmore, watch this space for more details.

Underage coaching continues on Friday evenings in the complex at 6pm - get ready for underage blitz competitions! All newcomers are welcome!

Get ready for the Underage quiz in the hall on Tuesday March 16th.

Training for all Senior, Junior and Reserve players on Wednesday's and Fridays at 8pm.

Players! Get your forms filled up with your 087 buddies names and numbers. The forms will be collected at training on Wednesday night.

It Is not too last so If you have any old or new photographs that you would like to see up on the website gallery, please contact Julie Anne Sheridan, old photos can be scanned in!

Ladies

Best of luck to the senior girls who are taking part in a 9aside tournament next Saturday in Dublin.

Training

Senior Minor and u16 training starts this Sunday morning at 12pm. It is very important that there is a full turn-out

Underage coaching will begin on Saturday the 20th of March. More details will follow next week. Anyone interested in helping out with coaching the underage is asked to contact Patrica (Beglan) Galligan on 087 2528314.

Congratulations to the county senior team on another win at the weekend. Also, congratulations to Laura Sheridan Scholze and Aishling Sheridan on their u14 county win at the weekend.

Erne Valley Community Games

Congratulations to the u15 boys indoor soccer team who qualified for the next round of the tournament at the weekend. The boys and girls U13 indoor soccer teams were unfortunately defeated at the weekend.Also, both Basketball girls teams were defeated at the weekend.

Matches

The u13 girls soccer team will play this evening Wednesday at 7.30pm in the complex against Annagh/Drumlane. Best of luck with that girls

Boys basketball training continues this Sunday evening as normal.
