Ballyhaise Club Notices

March 08, 2010
Congratulations to Kevin Tierney who won the Minor Player of the Year Award at the Anglo-Celt Media Awards on Friday night. Kevin's award was richly deserved as his performances throughout the year helped Ballyhaise to a minor league division one title and a place in the county minor final.

He was also a crucial member of the county team and his loss through illness was a critical factor in Cavan's first round defeat to Down. Raymond Cullivan was also nominated as the Intermediate Player of the Year and Geraldine Mulvany was nominated as Camogie Player of the Year, however, they lost out to Stephen Jordan (Lavey) and Niamh Brady (Lacken) respectively. In the special awards section Ballyhaise P.R.O Fr. Michael Router won the P.R.O of the Year Award.

Ballyhaise minor team suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Ramor Utd in Annalee Park on Sunday morning. A sharper and more clinical display from the visitors left the home team struggling to stay in touch for most of the game. Jack Brady scored nine points and James Bradley a goal and two points to secure a comfortable victory for the Virginia based team.

Ballyhaise, however, never gave up and had solid performances from Aidan Moran, Conor Smith, Francis McConnell and Niall Conaty in defence, John McCabe and Francis Moore in midfield and Jamie Conaty and Pauric Moore in the forwards. The next game is on St. Patrick's Day against Redbridge.
