Ulster Colleges All-Star football team named

MacRory Cup holders St. Patrick's, Dungannon, Omagh CBS and St. Mary's, Belfast have two players each named on the BT Ulster Colleges All-Star football team.
The other schools represented are St. Patrick's Maghera, Abbey CBS, Newry, St. Louis', Kilkeel, St. Pius X, Magherafelt, St. Paul's, Bessbrook, St. Macartan's, Monaghan, Patrician, Carrickmacross, St. Patrick's, Armagh and St. Colman's, Newry.
It was a case of 'double delight' for St. Mary's pair Christopher McGuinness and Declan Lynch who were also selected on the BT Ulster Colleges All-Star hurling team two weeks ago.
Speaking at the announcement of the awards in Belfast yesterday, Ulster Colleges' Council chairman Seamus Meehan said: "This year our team has a wide base in terms of schools, counties and clubs, and the overall standard of player at the trials really challenged our selectors. It reflects well on the coaching of these young men have encountered at all levels in their formative years.
"To achieve an Ulster Colleges' All-Star award is to rightly earn a place in football's hall of fame. Many of the previous recipients have gone on to earn national All-Stars and All-Ireland acclaim."
