Ramor club notes U-8& u-10s; The teams had a challenge match last Saturday morning against Castlerahan. This was a great opportunity for all the young players to display the skills they have learnt throughout the year. It is great to see such large numbers turning out every Saturday morning, and great credit must go to all the coaches and mentors involved. Training as normal this Saturday at 11am. U-12s; It has been quiet lately for some of the younger teams with most competitions finished now. Still happy after being crowned Roinn A champions in June, the U-12,Äôs resumed training again in preparation for the Annual Peter O,ÄôReilly Tournament which is hoped will be played shortly. Minors; Ramor  exited the Minor Championship on Sunday last. They suffered a defeat to Laragh on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-15. It was the proverbial game of two halves with the bare minimum between the sides at half time. The first half was  a dogged affair with both sides recording a number of wides. It looked good for Ramor  when they took a three point lead following a high ball in which resulted in a goal. Laragh clawed back to lead by 1 point at half time. Laragh took the initiative at the start of the second half and went two points ahead. Ramor responded with two points to draw level after 5 minutes played. From here on Laragh dominated the game, scoring 7 unanswered points. Ramor had a couple of near goal chances, but it was too late. However, Ramor can draw consolation from the fact that this is a very young side, 13 of whom are underage next year again. Laragh will have benefited from the fact that they played three games already in this competition.Nevertheless, they are a strong side and we wish them well in their next game. Ramor Seniors; The next game for the Seniors is a home League game against Bailieborough on Saturday October 18th. No time given as yet. Ramor Utd Fundraiser; Ramor Utd are holding a Race Night on Friday night, October 17th in Healy,Äôs Bar, Virginia. There are horses for sale at quite a bargain and all are a sure bet! The astro turf pitches are well on the way to completion. They will be the finest in the county, and bookings will be taken shortly. The playground is well and truly open now and it is great to see so many children enjoying themselves there.  Walking/Running  Track Reminder; We would remind all users of the track that you must have membership to avail of this facility. John Joe Reilly Tournament In a thoroughly enjoyable game on Sunday Gowna were lucky to escape with a victory in the dying seconds of the game thanks to a point from Gearld Pearson. Lacken were first out of the blocks with points from James Moynagh and Frankie Mulligan. James Moynagh was indeed Lacken's best player for the first half scoring four points and playing a part in the others. Gowna were winning the battle round the middle but were missing scoring power up front. Ciaran Brady, Dermot McCabe and Gearld Pearson played well in the first half leaving the score at half time 0-9 to 0-4 in favor of Lacken. Gowna made two substitutions at the start of the second half which paid off for them. Dermot McCabe was also moved in full forward. Straight away Niall Madden scored a point for Gowna. Mark McKeever kicked a long ball into Dermot McCabe who put the ball in the back of the net. It was all Gowna in the second half scoring 1-6 to Lacken's 3 points. With 6 minutes to go it was "tit for tat" with the scores level and both side squandering numerous chances. However a missed opportunity from Lacken gave Gowna the advantage of a kick out to which Gearld Pearson kicked over the bar. For Lacken James Moynagh, Dan Leddy ,Kevin Shannaghy played well. For Gowna the experience of Dermot McCabe, Gearld Pearson and Mark McKeever and Fergal Harton was to be seen. The final score was 0-12 to 1-10.
