The late Terry Murphy The death occureed on Monday, December 18, 2006 of Mrs. Terry Murphy at her home in Ballyloo after a long illness in the loving care of her family. A widow since 1965 after the death of her husband Andy (a Carlow and Leinster GAA Footballer), Terry faced the onerous responsability of raising 6 children between the ages of 6 months and 9 years. Two year later she returned to work as a nurse and midwife in the District Hospital, Carlow where she later served as Assistant Matron. She ensured that by changing work shifts, that she was available to promote the sporting interests of her children and ferried them to various sporting and cultural events. Terry also imbued a love of nursing to her family when no fewer than 4 of her children followed her into her profession. As her son Michael, present Chairman of Trinyland Juvenile GAA Club commented, she served a dual role in his life as father and mother. She will be sadly missed by all family and friends. Remains were removed from R Healy and Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle in Tuesday, 19 December, 2006 to St Joseph's Church, Trinyland with the funeral mass taking place on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Her Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Moling Lennon, retired PP Naas and family friend, assisted by Fr John McEvoy PP, Trinyland. The soloist was Rev. Liam Lawton accompanied by Ollie Hennessy. She is survived by her sons Jim (Ballyloo), Michael (Linkardstown) and John (Ballyloo), daughters Anne Higgins (Naas), Helen Whelan (Carlow) and Breda Ronan (Waterford), brothers Vinie, Ray, Danny, PJ, Michael and John, sisters Connie And Dell, grandchildre, daughters in law, sons in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
