The late John Corrigan The people of Ballon were united in grief as the news of the tragic death of John Corrigan (30) filtered through on Friday, July 30, 2006. Son of Johnny and Sheila Corrigan, Ballon Hill he was a stonemason by trade and was regarded as a highly skilled craftsman. In his younger days he played Gaelic football with the local club and won an U-14 County championship medal with Ballon/Rathoe. His remains were removed to The Church of SS. Peter and Paul, Ballon on Sunday evening, July 9, 2006 and burial took place in Ballon cemetery on the following morning after Requiem Mass celebrated by Very Rev. Edward Whelan PP. Ballon GFC provided a Guard of Honour. John is mourned by his parents, Johnny and Sheila, brothers Declan, David, Noel (his twin), and Brendan, sister Colette and by his aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and a large circle of friends.
