The late Tommy Ryan The death occurred in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny of Tommy Ryan, Graiguenaspideogue. Tommy who was aged 83 years, was actively farming up to two months before his passing when he first became unwell after enjoying remarkable good health throughout his life. In recent years, he concentrated on dry stock and sheep and he was noted for the neatness of his farmyard and expertise as a farmer. He was a lifelong supporter of Tinryland GFC. In a graveyard oration, club chairman Brendan Hayden described Tommy's involvement as a player with Tinryland in the 1940's. Both Tommy and Brendan played together in a successful junior team of 1953. He was pre-deceased by his brother Johnny some five years ago and was the last surviving member of his family. The large attendance present at his funeral was testimony to the high esteem in which he was held over a wide area. He is survived by his relatives, the Lawlor and Dunphy families of St. Mullin's and Borris, where his mother originally came from and a wide circle of friends. His remains were removed from Kearney's funeral home, Fenagh to St. Joseph's Church, Tinryland . He was buried in the local cemetery after Requiem Mass where Fr.
