The late Thomas Blanche The death took place at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, of Mr Thomas J. Blanche, Connaberry, Ballon. Aged 90, the late Mr. Blanche was an active man and had enjoyed good health until very recently. He had worked for Carlow County Council as a carpenter for many years. A man of great local knowledge he was an avid and pursued both hobbies right up until he recent brief illness. He was a member of Fr. John Lawler's choir back in the 1930s and continued to sing in the church choir right up to recent weeks. As a young man he won a Carlow JFC with Ballon in 1937 land played senior football for Carlow. His remains were removed from his home to the Church of SS. Peter and Paul, Ballon, on the evening following his death and burial took place in the local cemetery after requiem Mass. The late Mr Blache is survived by his sons Patrick ( Kilkenny), John (Connaberry), daughters Mrs. Rosaleen Lawlor (Newcastle) Mrs Brenda Farrell (Templeogue), Ms Mary Blanche, (Spain), Ms Dolores Blanche (Swindon), Mrs Carmel Rolph (Leicestershire), brother, Francis (Ballinadrum), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grand-children, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
