Carlow manager Turlough O'Brien was left furious by Antrim's 'treatment' of Paul Broderick which resulted in the talented forward being forced off the field before half time.

Broderick is just on his way back from injury, but according to O'Brien he was 'targeted' by the Antrim defenders during the defeat to the Saffrons.

"He was targeted, no question," blasted O'Brien when questioned about the injury by the Carlow Nationalist after the game.

O'Brien was also furious after Brendan Murphy was shown a second yellow card along with Antrim's Niall McKeever late on in the game.

"Absolutely disgraceful," added O'Brien. "It was a cop out, it was a straight red card for him (McKeever) and he should have gone long before that."
