McCormack: We didn't turn up

November 04, 2015

St Mullins manager Anthony McCormack was left frustrated by his side's failure to play to their potential during their Leinster club SHC quarterfinal defeat to Clonkill.

The Carlow champions conceded three first half goals and Clonkill added a fourth early in the second half to effectively end the match as a contest.

This was the second year that St Mullins went down to Westmeath opposition (Raharney last year) and McCormack admitted to the Carlow Nationalist that it was a hard defeat to take.

"We were still in the game at half time," said the Kilkenny native. "We needed to get a score early in the second half. We lost composure as the game was slipping away. We were just not good enough."

Clonkill now go on to play Oulart-The Ballagh in the semi-final after the Wexford champions defeated Clough-Ballacolla of Laois.
