Carlow's Marty Kavanagh with Tommy Doyle Westmeath during the 2014 Leinster SHC

Carlow forward Marty Kavanagh is adamant that they can avoid the drop to the Christy Ring Cup next year.

Two defeats from their opening two matches in the Leinster SHC, has left them in a perilous position of needing to beat Antrim in their last match on Sunday week.

A win over the Saffrons will see both sides on two points, but with head to head counting ahead of score difference, Carlow would survive.

And Kavanagh told the Carlow Nationalist that it was still a case of all to play for and added that they won't go out without a fight.

"Look, it just to show there are such small margins," Kavanagh told the Carlow Nationalist. "We have to keep working and keep believing and we will get there eventually."

He added: Everyone is trying hard and bursting themselves to make it happen. It is just such small margins."
