Minors bid to bounce back

April 23, 2015

Carlow minor hurlers have a second chance in the Leinster championship this weekend when they host Westmeath at Netwatch Cullen Park.

The Barrowsiders suffered a heavy defeat to Offaly in the opening round following a lacklustre display against the Faithful County.

However, selector John McDonald admitted to the Carlow Nationalist that they are looking forward to Saturday's game.

"We were disappointed," McDonald said of the defeat to Offaly. There's no doubt about it but we are looking forward to the weekend and are hopeful of turning this one around."

Westmeath opened their campaign with a facile win over Wicklow and the Midlanders will be quietly confident of making it two wins form two.
