Carlow manager Turlough O'Brien is looking at their draw against Wicklow last weekend from a point gained perspective rather than a point lost.

The hosts took over in the lead early in the second-half after trailing by 0-2 to 0-4 at the change of ends but they had to settle for a draw- 0-9 apiece - at the final whistle.

"A committed performance from Carlow and Wicklow," O'Brien said to The Nationalist.

"Tight the whole way through and both sides desperately wanted to win it. The breeze was a factor in both halves.

"We were the better team. We are very positive about this. We are taking it as a point won and are moving on to Offaly next week.

"We are unbeaten in the division."

The Barrowsiders take on the Faithful County this weekend and goalkeeper Craig Kearney said: "If we can beat Offaly, it would put us in a great position.

"We would have a week's break and then two games to push on."
