A bitterly disappointed John Meyler has quickly turned his attentions to the Leinster SHC clash against London, following Carlow's league final defeat.

The Barrowsiders were favourites to win the Division 2A NHL final and go on to play Offaly in the promotion/relegation play-off. However, the Kingdom were worthy winners on the day.

Meyler told the Carlow Nationalist that his side were not at their best, but added that now the focus turned to the clash with London in three weeks time.

"Defeat is hard to take. We could have hurled a lot better but we didn't. Fair dues to Kerry for not allowing us," said Meyler.

"In three weeks we have London in Ruislip. We have four matches in four Sundays and it will be tough to get these lads going again. We will give them a week off and we'll get back at it again.

"There is no point in being down about it. We have to go and play in the championship now."
