FL4: Carlow force draw with Exiles

March 22, 2014

Anthony Rainbow. INPHO
London 2-7
Carlow 0-13

Carlow staged a stirring second half comeback to earn a share of the spoils with London in today's rescheduled Allianz Football League clash at Ruislip.

The Exiles looked to be on course for their second victory of the campaign when they led by 2-6 to 0-4 at the break, but could only manage one further score in the second period as Anthony Rainbow's charges rallied to force a draw, with Paul Broderick landing the equaliser from a '45' with the last kick of the game.

Playing with a strong wind in the first half, London started well and two points from Mark Gottsche helped them to a 0-5 to 0-2 lead before goals from Barry Mitchell and Barry John Molloy (o.g.) left them in a strong position at the halfway stage.

But the Barrowsiders refused to give up the ghost and outscored the hosts by 0-9 to 0-1 after the break to snatch a draw.
