Carlow manager John Meyler is already planning for the 2014 campaign.

Even though, there are almost four months remaining in 2013, the work that an inter county manager must go through can be seen in the fact that Meyler is already having physical strength programmes drawn up for his players.

Meyler has been busy attending SHC matches in Carlow all summer in order to spot new talent and his schedule does not ease up anytime soon.

"It's not a case of starting up on January 1st," Meyler told the Carlow Nationalist. "We will be putting physical strength programs in place where fellas will be working on their own.

"Lads have to do it or else they will be left behind. Take it that the top counties are doing it religiously so we have to do it as well." Tweet
