Club accuses county team of reneging on promises
May 09, 2012
Carlow Town hurling club have blasted the county board and the senior football management over issues concerning dual players.
The club alleges that the county senior football management went back on promises when hosting a training session in the Curragh last weekend.
Carlow Town were defeated in the Kilkenny junior hurling league semi final by Graigue-Ballycallan on the same day as the county session and despite receiving assurances that their players would not have to partake in all the training, the club claim that the players in question were forced too.
The football management team and the county board have strenuously denied the allegations from the club, but Carlow Town are adamant that the players Paul McElligott Conor Lawlor and Sean Gannon were physically drained for the hurling match.
