Carlow don't expect time change
May 09, 2012
Carlow hurlers expect their Leinster SHC clash against Laois to go ahead as planned.
The match is due to be played on Saturday May 19th the same day as the Heineken Cup final and the Champions League final. To compound the situation, the Leinster SHC clash is timed for two hours after the rugby showpiece and just an hour before the soccer clash.
However, despite the fact that this will probably affect the attendance of the hurling, Carlow chairman Michael Meaney believes that the match will not be changed.
"As it stands the match is going ahead at 7pm. It is unfortunate it clashes with other sporting events," Meaney explained to the Carlow Nationalist.
"Looking ahead to the summer with the Olympics and the European soccer championships, there are a lot of games going to clash."
