Dempsey punishes Carlow minors
April 18, 2012
Carlow minor manager Sean Dempsey has revealed that he dropped four players before the defeat to Dublin.
The players were dropped for a breach of discipline, which included a drinking ban and a curfew and the Carlow manager admits that he was left with no choice, but to drop the players concerned.
"It wasn't just drinking. They broke a curfew which we had laid down," Dempsey explained to the Carlow Nationalist. "It was done and dusted within a few hours.
"In fairness to the lads involved they took it on the chin. They have been in training since. We said to them that they needed to be staying in, not going out and minding themselves. They are representing their county and can't be seen out like that."
