FL4: Limerick have too much for Carlow
April 16, 2012
With nothing to play for at the Gaelic Grounds for either side, Limerick brought their disappointing league campaign to an end with an impressive win over Carlow.
Limerick 0-19
Carlow 1-9
The Treaty were five points to the good at half time - 0-9 to 0-4. Limerick moved into an early lead before Carlow had two glorious goal opportunities but failed to capitalise.
Trailing by 0-4 to 0-1 entering the second quarter, the Barrowsiders drew level with three points without answer. However, the home side controlled the remainder of the first half and pushed clear with some impressive point taking.
Limerick maintained the upperhand after the resumption and continued to rack up the scores with inside men Ian Ryan and Ger Collins to the fore.
Sean Gannon beat Brian Scanlon late on for the games only goal but it was only consolation at that stage.
