Coleman admits nerves were frayed
January 26, 2012
Mount Leinster Rangers selector John Coleman revealed the culmination of last weekend's All-Ireland club IHC semi final was hard on the nerves.
The Carlow and Leinster champions had to withstand a late onslaught from Robert Emmetts before booking their place in an All-Ireland club final for the first time in their history.
"It wasn't brutally bad on the nerves, but it was bad enough," Coleman explained to the Carlow Nationalist. "Our panel has been strong the whole year and even since the intermediate final you had Eoin Doyle start. Maybe he came out of nowhere to other people."
"There is a great spirit among the lads and they will turn up for training and do what is asked of them. It is not too hard when you are winning All-Ireland semi finalists to keep the whole thing going for the next three weeks."
