Craig Doyle believes 2010 was a positive year for Carlow hurling.

Doyle bagged 2-3 as the Barrowsiders pushed Antrim all the way in Casement Park last weekend and he stated afterwards that, despite the disappointment of defeat, it was still a landmark year for Carlow:

"It's sickening alright but there are an awful lot of positives to be taken from the fact that we came up to Belfast and ran Antrim so close.

"The whole year was very positive. Between beating Wexford and running Clare so close, we had a good league campaign.

"We got a lot of criticism for the day up in Laois but we took it on the chin and moved on."

As for next year...

"We'll definitely be looking to progress a bit further in the league, then get the first win in the Leinster championship.

"The gym programmes will be issued around October, then it's three months of hard training on your own to get in shape for next season. We'll crack on from then."
