Carlow secured their second win in Division 4 of the NFL when they proved much too strong for whipping boys Kilkenny at Dr Cullen Park.

Eight players shared in the scoring as the Barrowsiders maintained their mid-table position. The game was as good as over at half-time when the hosts led by 1-13 to 0-2, but in fairness to Kilkenny, they didn't throw in the towel and scored four unanswered points in the second half.

John Murphy scored 2-2 from midfield for Luke Dempsey's side, while his colleague Willie Minchin hit 0-3. Corner forward Johnny Kavanagh scored eight points, while his opposite number Paddy Raftice top-scored for the Cats with 0-4. Tweet
