Leahy questions venue decision

June 05, 2009
Kerry hurling selector DJ Leahy is far from impressed that the Kingdom must face Carlow IN CARLOW in an All-Ireland semi-final. Incredulously, Saturday afternoon's Christy Ring Cup semi-final is being staged in Dr Cullen Park and Leahy is justified in questioning the fairness of that decision: "It is amazing that we have to play at our opponents' grounds for what is effectively an All-Ireland semi-final. "This gives a huge advantage to Carlow and is a strange decision by the authorities. "It does not make sense that we played the quarter-final at a neutral venue and then we have to concede the venue to our opponents for the semi-final. "We have no choice - the decision is made and we will have to get on with it - but it is disappointing."
