Éire Óg to lose eight to emigration
May 21, 2009
County champions Éire Óg are set to feel the worst effects of this country's recession with the news that eight of their senior and intermediate squads will move abroad this summer.
Cormac Mullins, Michael Hennessy and former Carlow captain Paul Cashin will all be playing their football in Boston shortly, while five of the club's intermediate panel are also going abroad for the summer.
Another club also badly effected by player emigration is Éire Óg's Leinster club championship opponents of last year, Kiltegan, who had just four of the team from last year's Wicklow county final triumph lined-out in a recent Centenary Cup game due to player's mass exodus to Australia.
