Carlow give Galway and Antrim moves the thumbs-up
October 03, 2008
Carlow have given Antrim and Galway's bid to play in the 2009 Leinster SHC a boost by voting in favour of the move.
Carlow GAA made the decision at a board meeting on Wednesday night last ahead of the debate on the HDC proposals at tomorrow's Special Congress meeting.
"The vote was unanimous in support of Galway and Antrim coming into Leinster while there were a few questions raised as to why we are not competing in Leinster, having won the Christy Ring Cup," said Carlow Chairman Pat Deering.
"Personally I feel the way the championship is structured at the moment is a disaster. Galway hammering Antrim and Laois every year does nothing for hurling."
