St Andrew's lodge objection

September 25, 2008
The conclusion of the intermediate football championship may be held up after St Andrew's objected to amount of injury time played during their quarterfinal defeat to Clonmore. Initially there was confusion over the result of the match as the referee Ollie Hynes had the result as a draw, but he quickly changed that to a one point win for Clonmore. However, the St Andrew's club have accepted the result but have objected to the amount of injury time played at the end of normal time. "We have lodged an objection to the outcome of the game," said St Andrew's Chairman Liam Barry. "The mistake was made in relation to the amount of injury time that was played in the second half. "We have sought a hearing with a separate body and are exploring all available avenues open to us. We feel that there should have been more injury time played and possibly in that period we may have been able to get an equaliser."
