Louth, Kildare, Longford, Wexford and Dublin all made winning starts to their Leinster MFC campaigns last night.
Aided by two Westmeath dismissals in the final quarter, Louth came from 0-5 to 0-10 down at Hunterstown to defeat the visitors 1-10 to 0-11. Andrew O'Reilly's goal was followed by late points from Cillian McQuillan and Brendan Cassidy.
Harry Donnelly and Mark O'Toole scored 0-6 and 1-1 respectively as Kildare produced a dominant second half display in Stamullen to overwhelm Meath by 1-18 to 1-6. At Faithful Fields, first half goals from Cian O'Donnell and James Hagan laid the foundations for Longford's 2-13 to 1-9 victory over Offaly.
James Rothwell, Adam O'Neill and Darren Rossiter raised green flags in a 3-18 to 2-11 victory for Wexford over Carlow, while goals from Senan Bolger (two), Fintan Lydon, Donach Magee and Josh Kennedy eased Dublin to a 5-13 to 1-11 win over Laois.
