Bonnar not getting carried away

Colm Bonnar insists Carlow have kept their feet on the ground since holding Galway to a draw a fortnight ago.

Not many saw the sensational result coming, despite the Barrowsiders having pushed Dublin all the way in the first round.

"When everyone saw the schedule from a Carlow point of view, to hit Dublin first in Parnell Park was going to be tough, Galway in the second game too, Waterford third, also tough," the Carlow manager said in the Irish Independent.

"The plus side to that was that it was going to improve us as a team in terms of moving forward in preparation for our last two games against Laois and Offaly and we've never taken our eye off the ball with those games in mind.

"So, as much as we like to compete and do well in the early games it's hugely important that we don't yo-yo, that we hold our status."
