Home wins a must for Bonnar

Carlow manager Colm Bonnar is intransigent in his opinion that they must win their home games in the Joe McDonagh Cup.

The Barrowsiders got their campaign off to a good start with a home win over Kerry last Sunday, and the manager is keen for them to build on that for the rest of the campaign.

This weekend, they travel to Belfast to face Antrim who also have a win under their belt having defeated Meath away in the opening round.

"It is very important to win your home games and try to get something away. Look, there is so much to play for. We could have been at the end of a two-point loss and under serious pressure so we are delighted to have two points on the board," Bonnar told the Carlow Nationalist.

"We are not going to get carried away. I said before this competition started you could win a game by a point or two or lose a game by a point or two. You could find yourself moving forward or find yourself at the bottom end of it.

"We are delighted to have got a good start because this is all it is. We have four more games to play."
