Carlow lose Kavanagh for summer - report

<p>Carlow senior hurlers have been dealt a huge blow with the news that top-scorer Marty Kavanagh is set to jet off to the US for the summer.</p> <p>According to a report from kclrfanzone.com, Kavanagh will play no part in the inaugural Joe McDonagh Cup competition and is also likely to miss some club championship action for his native St Mullins.</p> <p>Kavanagh landed 1-9 in Carlow&rsquo;s Allianz League Division 2A final victory over Westmeath last month and finished the campaign with <a href="http://www.hoganstand.com/Carlow/Article/Index/283706">an impressive 4-31 to his name.</a></p> <p>The Barrowsiders are down to face Kerry in the first round of the Joe McDonagh Cup on May 5th.</p>
