Padraig Amond has expressed his shock at claims that four young Carlow sports players are being forced to decide between soccer and GAA.
Carlow GAA shared a text message one of their underage coaches had received from the parent of a player on Twitter last night warning that he would be dropped from the Carlow / Kilkenny FC U15s if he continued to play any form of GAA.

Amond, a former Carlow minor hurler whose goal for Newport County almost knocked Spurs out of this year's FA Cup, reckons playing different sports as a youngster didn't do him any harm, while Kerry football star Darran O'Sullivan - who played schoolboy soccer with QPR - was also outraged by the 'ultimatum' given to the young players.

That's not right. 15 year olds shouldn't be made make those decisions. Didn't do me any harm playing everthing until I was old enough and made my own choice.- Padraig Amond (@padraigamond21) March 1, 2018
This is just ridiculous! https://t.co/C62o7Yd65K- Darran O'Sullivan (@Darransull86) March 1, 2018
