Padraig Amond has expressed his shock at claims that four young Carlow sports players are being forced to decide between soccer and GAA.
Carlow GAA shared a text message one of their underage coaches had received from the parent of a player on Twitter last night warning that he would be dropped from the Carlow / Kilkenny FC U15s if he continued to play any form of GAA.

Amond, a former Carlow minor hurler whose goal for Newport County almost knocked Spurs out of this year's FA Cup, reckons playing different sports as a youngster didn't do him any harm, while Kerry football star Darran O'Sullivan - who played schoolboy soccer with QPR - was also outraged by the 'ultimatum' given to the young players.
Wow........WOW !

One of our Coaches just received the message below from a Parent of a Colt:
And there we were encouraging our younger players to enjoy all sports...... pic.twitter.com/zA9mT1WcIE
That's not right. 15 year olds shouldn't be made make those decisions. Didn't do me any harm playing everthing until I was old enough and made my own choice.
