Camogie President honoured by the Tipperary Association

President of the Camogie Association, Liz Howard, has been awarded the Tipperary Person of the Year.  Ms. Howard was presented with her award by John Treacy, CEO of the Irish Sports Council, at a reception in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel in Dublin on Friday night, April 18th.  Liz Howard is in the third year of her Presidency of the Camogie Association and previously served on the Management Executive of the national governing body for Camogie.  She is a former PRO of Tipperary GAA County Board and also worked as an analyst on RTE's The Sunday Game  for three years when the programme first began. Legendary Tipperary hurler, Tony Wall, was also honoured on the night receiving the Hall of Fame Award.  Tony Wall is the holder of five senior All Ireland medals.  He was also the first recipient of a Texaco award in 1958. Over 250 people were at the event in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel.  The award winners were presented with sculptures by renowned sculptor Jarlath Daly
