Camogie returns to New York!

February 05, 2012
The New York Camogie board is delighted to announce the return of Ladies Camogie to the Big Apple for 2012. Following years of hard work at an underage level and the success of the annual Young Ireland Competition Camogie is back in New York for the first time in almost 10 years. Currently there are three clubs Shannon Gaels, Rockland and the St Brigid's club in the Bronx regularly participating in underage blitzes and the CYC tournaments. New York's success's at the Continental Youth Championships and a renewed interest in the development of home based teams has led to the rejuvenation of Camogie in New York.

This year we hope to have 2 new clubs competing for a renewed Championship Competition. The St Brigid's club based in Woodlawn and Hoboken Camogie based in Hoboken, New Jersey will compete for the New York Championship this summer. It is also hoped that the teams will compete in the NACB Championships this September in Philadelphia.
