Kilmessan 2-7 V The Harps 1-15
The current All Ireland Junior Club Champions The Harps from Laois travelled to Meath to take on Kilmessan in the Leinster Club Semi-Final. Kilmessan knew that this was going to be a big task as The Harps have won the past three All Ireland Club titles.
Kilmessan did not turn up just to make up numbers, with some notable county players on board they did not let their club down as they pushed hard and defended well during the game.
The Harps with they three Mahony sisters Aine, Louise & Elaine certainly have a winning combination with these players as they took scores with ease during the game.
Kilmessan Caoimhe O'Leary playing at full back was drawn out of defence on a number of occasion by her player during the first half, this did not stop her defending well and clearing out some vital balls. Etaoin Doyle was also on hand to stop some of the Harps forward passes when she intercepted play.
The Harps were they first to score with a point coming from a free by Louise Mahony, Aine pointed from play in the 10th minute and Louise followed with a further 2 points before their corner forward Emma Saunders sent home the first goal of the game in the 20th minute. Kilmessan took longer to find a route passed the Harps defence when in the 23rd minute Aileen Donnelly pointed from a free and within the next minute Anne Marie Dennehy got Kilmessans first goal which gave them some hope. Aine & Louise Mahony added one point a piece and Aileen Donnelly pointed from a free to leave the score at half time : Kilmessan 1-2 the harps 1-6
In the second half The Harps pushed ahead with some fine play and Scores, their full back Denise Quigley was solid in defence, the Mahony sisters never gave up and Claire Walsh & Joanne Prior also worked hard in attack. Kilmessans Frances Lynch made some moves up field, Aileen was helping out where she could and Stephanie horan impressed throughout.
Kilmessans Lisa Tyrell got the opening point of the second half and the Harps followed with seven unanswered points ( Aine mahony 0-3, Louise Mahony 0-2 & Elaine Mahony 0-2), before Kilmessan Aileen Donnelly took a free in the 50th minute which she blasted to the harps net. Kilmessan forwards took some of their scoring chances in the last 15 minutes of the game as Lisa Tyrell, Katie Ni choileann & Aileen Donnelly pointed from play. It was all to late for kilmessan as The Harps got 2 additional scores from aine Mahony.

Under 18 Championship
Blackhall Gaels 0-1 Killyon 4-8
Killyon had a good start to their Under 18 Championship with a good win over Blackhall gaels, Killyon started well and impressed throughout with Hazel Coleman, Emma Foley, Lisa foley stacey duignan & Maudanne Foley all doing well. Blackhall did try hard and were unlucky not to have more scores up on the board. Amy Crosbie Aishling Keane, Kristina Troy & Jayne Mangan doing well.
