Gala Year for Camogie Players!
- Gala All-Ireland Camogie Championships are launched in Croke Park -
The 2009 Gala All-Ireland Camogie Championships were launched on 10th June, in Croke Park by President Joan O'Flynn, Denise Lord, Customer Service Manager of Gala, and the captains of the 27 counties competing in this year's Championships at senior, intermediate and junior level.
The Gala All Ireland Senior Championship will be the most hotly contested in recent years with eight teams now competing for the O'Duffy Cup. Clare have joined the senior ranks this year following success in the Gala All Ireland Junior Final in 2008 when they beat Offaly in a thrilling final in Croke Park. Recognising the awesome contributions of the players involved Gala has introduced an award for the Senior Camogie player who delivers the most outstanding performance of the season, as voted for by the public - the Gala Performance Award. The player will win the Gala Performance Award trophy and a 5* luxury weekend break.

Croydon Camogie Club London
A Chara,
I am writing on behalf of Croydon Camogie Club, based in South London. We are one of the oldest surviving camogie clubs in London and compete at both Senior and Junior level. As ever, we are seeking girls/camogie players to join our friendly and sociable club as all we want to do is continue playing camogie and keep the gaelic flag flying in London.
We would therefore be most grateful for your assistance and if you could let us know if you are able to pass on our contact details to any girls you know who may either be coming to London or who already in London and would be interested in playing with our club.
I would also be very grateful if you send me details for all club PRO's within your county as I would like to make contact with as many clubs as possible and send a similar message to them.
Please feel free to pass on my email details or my mobile number (00447783306436).
Our club website is www.croydoncamogieclub.com
Many thanks for your help and assistance on this matter.
Is mise le meas,
Brid Ni Aichir
