The Under 14 team won their League game this week against Aughrim while the Under 12s played very well but lost out to Knockananna.
The Under 10s played Ballinteer St John's on Sunday morning and the Intermediates played Glenealy in the All County League.
Our Under 14s travelled to Coolderry on Co Offaly on Saturday to take part in a Leinster Blitz. We played in a group of three. The first game was against Celbridge who were stronger and went on to win the Final. We played Clonad in the next game and with a much more settled performance came out on top. The Final group game was a very exciting affair which saw our team battle hard and with their best performance of the day, defeat Marshalstown of Wexford by the narrowest of margins with a last minute goal. As the pitches were suffering because of the weather, the organisers decided to play a straight Final between the two Group winners with Celbridge winning. It was a great day out and everyone enjoyed the experience of meeting and playing against teams which we had never seen before! Well done to all the players who acquitted themselves with 2 wins out of 3.Thanks to Leinster Development Co-O-ordinator Jenny Duffy and Claire Hinchy who was local organiser on the day. We are also very grateful to the members of Naomh Brid, the local Coolderry Club who played a friendly game against us and offered us their hospitality throughout the day.
Well done to all who travelled and the Drivers who got us there.
This week the U16s and Intermediates don't have fixtures in Wicklow as the exam break starts.
The Dublin Intermediate League continues however and we play Trinity Gaels on Thursday evening.
The Under 12s entertain Bray Emmets on Friday and the Under 9s play Good Counsel on Sunday morning.
Saturday May 23th sees the first U8 and U10 Wicklow Blitz get underway. It will be in Rathdrum. All Under 8.Under 9 and Under 10 players should meet at the Kilcoole Clubhouse at 9.20am.
On Sunday we had a Stand at the Shoreline Community Expo which proved to be a very positive experience for all involved.
