McDonnell backs backroom team

August 01, 2008
Armagh manager Peter McDonnell paid tribute to the superb work of his backroom team following their latest Ulster success. After claiming their seventh Ulster title in 10 years McDonnell was quick to praise those around him. "As a group of players the present squad is very committed and hard working. They have responded well to the challenges presented to them and have been expertly prepared by Gary Mallon, Brendan Tierney, Denis Hollywood and Brian O' Kane. The backgound team and medical personnel have been exceptional." Claimed McDonnell. The new manager who like his predecessor Joe Kernan has won an Ulster title in his first year in charge was also full of compliments for the Orchard County fans. He said "The Armagh support have proved once again that when it comes to Championship their support is second to none. The management and players are deeply indebted to you all for the effort made to support the County team."
