Ring Cup: Armagh are safe

July 26, 2008
Armagh 0-15 London 1-9 Armagh remain in the Christy Ring Cup competition for another year at the expense of London after overcoming London at Newry on Saturday. The Orchard County eventually overturned a two-point deficit after conceding a goal in the opening minutes when Mark Mythen hit the net for London. A free from Brian McCormack on the hour leveled matters for an Armagh side who were up against it after their full-back Paddy McArdle saw red just before the break. At the break the Exiles took in a two-point advantage with Mythen's goal giving them the edge, but Armagh rallied in the latter stages of the game through McCormack's sound free-taking which helped them gain a vital victory.
