Scór
The club was well represented in the semi-final round of Scór Sinsear Ard Mhacha on Sunday evening in Clann Éireann, with the strongest representation in five of the eight competitions. The céilí team were fantastic with Róisín, Brogan, Christine and Caroline putting in a great performance and narrowly missing out on a top two finish. AnneMarie Comiskey produced a flawless performance in solo singing and was rewarded with a place in the county final. Catherine Henderson's confident performance of her recitation ensured her passage through to the Armagh final. The ballad group of Malachy, AnneMarie, Maria and John produced two good performances and also made it through to the county final and the quiz team of club chairman John Henderson, John McStay and Danny who stood in at the last minute weren't too far behind. Well done to everyone who took part. Thank you also to the large support from the Tones and St Enda's who helped make the night a big success for the club. The county final will be on Saturday 25 February at a venue yet to be confirmed. Good luck to Anne Marie, Catherine and our ballad group in the county final. Ádh mór oraibh uilig.
We would like to pay a special word of thanks to Aislinn who did a fantastic job preparing our céilí team for the competition. The girls were brilliant on the night and can build on their performance for future year's. Go raibh maith agat, Aislinn. The girls would also like to thank Paul who prepared their uniforms.

Rith 2012
It won't be long to this year's biggest Irish language event Rith 2012 arrives in Doire Mhic Cais on Saturday 10 March. The run, which begins in Gaoth Dobhair in the Donegal Gaeltacht on 8 March and finishes on Inis Mór, one of the Aran Islands off the coast of Galway, aims to raise the profile of the Irish language and the Irish speaking community, while at the same time raising funds for community events and classes to promote the language. Check out the website at www.rith.ie, which shows details of the course in County Armagh as participants run between Derrymacash and Lurgan and then Armagh to Keady and Monaghan. Many of our members will be joining the rith, as it makes its way through the townlands associated with our club: Doire Mhic Cais, Achadh Camán, Baile na Mónadh, An Cnoc Ramhar, Coill an Airgid, Both Chonaill, Tír Maighre and Dromainn Uí Cheallaigh. A number of our senior footballers and camogie players will take part in the run and we hope many of our younger members will also take part to ensure a great start to the Rith in County Armagh.
Lá Fhéile Pádraig/ St Patrick's Day
The club will once again be organising a St Patrick's Day parade to celebrate our national saint. Further details will be provided later and we ask you to keep an eye on our facebook page and in the club notes. There will be plenty of craic in the bar that evening with entertainment from folk band On the Rip.

Owen Crilly is running 52 half marathons in 52 weeks to raise awareness of cancer related issues and to raise £15,000 for Action Cancer and Bowel Cancer UK. The club are backing Owen in his attempts to raise money for the charities and are asking club members to take part in a half marathon on Sunday 3rd June. The sponsorship will be shared between the two cancer charities and the club. If you are interested in taking part, Owen can even provide you with training schedules.
An Pháirc Nua/ New pitch
The club are currently running a fundraising drive to raise money to build a fence around the new pitches. We are asking our members to sponsor a panel of the fence, by donating £100. A number of members, supporters and friends have already signed up for this scheme and sponsorship is still coming in. The names of those who sponsor a panel on the fence will be added to a plaque, which will be erected in the hall. We would like to thank all those who have already contributed by sponsoring a panel of the fence. Go raibh mile maith agaibh. If you would like to support the club and be associated with this major development initiative, you can contact Teresa Tighe on 07935370372 or any member of the committee.
