O'Rourke not rushing Stevie

Armagh's Steven McDonnell
Paddy O'Rourke has reiterated that he won't rush Stevie McDonnell back into action.

Orchard boss O'Rourke finds himself without Jamie Clarke and Ronan Clarke as the start of the national league approaches, while Rory Grugan and Gavin McParland are also nursing injuries. But he tells the Irish News that Stevie McD will still be getting the recuperation period he deserves:

Asked could he call McDonnell back into the fold sooner than initially planned, the Armagh manager says: "I don't think there is any point in that.

"We know Stevie is there, we know that he is keeping himself fit. We need to find a couple of players to go with him and I think we'd be silly to move away from that.

"Stevie needs a break and maybe needs his batteries recharged. He has a very young family and whenever he feels ready and fresh to come back we'll be delighted to see him."
