Ulster MHC: Clarke points the way

An impressive tally of 2-10 by corner forward Ciaran Clarke helped Antrim to a comfortable win over Armagh in the Ulster MHC final at Casement Park.

The classy Saffrons laid down a marker early on as the raced into a four-point lead, but credit to Armagh they battled hard and matched their opponents in the skill department if not on the scoreboard.

Clarke was in outstanding for with 2-5 of his tally coming from play, while for Armagh centre forward Conor Corvan registered seven points over the course of the hour.

There was only three points separating the sides at half time as Antrim lead by 0-10 to 0-7, and to their credit Armagh were level by the tenth minute of the second half.

However, this was as good as it got for the Orchard County as Antrim scored an unanswered 2-9 with Clarke finding the net on two occasions, the last of which came in injury time.
