Mallon's one month ban stands

June 21, 2010

Tyrone's Conor Gormley closes in on Brian Mallon of Armagh during the sides' Ulster SFC clash at Clones
Despite an initially not accepting the proposed one month ban for his sending off against Monaghan, Armagh's Brian Mallon did not attend the scheduled Central Hearing Committee meeting.

The wing forward was dismissed for a straight red card offence in the Ulster quarter-final and reported by the referee for 'behaving in a way dangerous to an opponent.

The CCCC proposed a four week ban and Armagh hoped to have that penalty lifted, but the decision not to attend the CHC hearing meant that the suspension was imposed.

Mallon will now be absent for Armagh's All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers against Donegal on Saturday in Crossmaglen.
