O'Rourke tips Farney for Ulster glory
June 07, 2010
Paddy O'Rourke has tipped Monaghan to end their 22-year Ulster SFC title famine after their demolition of Armagh yesterday.
"Monaghan are an experienced, hardened team," the crestfallen Armagh boss said.
"They have very good players and we knew that. I wasn't trying to fool anybody when I said that they probably had as good a set of forwards as any team. I see no reason why Monaghan should not go on and win the Ulster title. I expect that is what they will do."
O'Rourke questioned Brian Mallon's 35th minute red card for a high tackle on Rory Woods, an incident from which they never recovered.
"We are very disappointed with the sending off," he said.
"Brian is a competitive boy, but he is not a dirty player. I did not see the tackle.
"It looked to me that he just made a shoulder tackle. Maybe it was a bit clumsy. When I see it I might agree."
