Well deserved Hall of Fame for Jimmy Nogher

Jimmy Nogher who was, and continues to be a Whitecross stalwart worker for over sixty years, was deservedly recognised at the St Killian's GAC Whitecross Annual Dinner, which took place recently St Killian's Hall, Whitecross, when he was awarded the club's Hall of Fame.

Club PRO, Sean Reavey, gave an outline of Jimmy's work on behalf of St Killian's GAC over the past sixty years which he described as the "nuts and bolts" of the Association.

"Jimmy was club Gateman for over fifty years after having being asked by the late Phonsie Malone to ‚"mind the gate", was committee member for the greater number of his sixty plus years of service to the club, a Lotto promoter since its inception and continues to act in this capacity.‚"

He concluded by stating that Jimmy Nogher was one of the greatest ever club stalwarts and was most deserving of this award.

The Pat O'Hanlon Memorial Award which was then presented to Jimmy by Terry O'Hanlon to tumultuous and sustained applause and a lengthy standing ovation to this most popular winner of the ultimate club award.
