Work on new Athletic Grounds stand begins

The final phase of the redevelopment of the Athletic Grounds in Armagh, which involves the construction of a new stand, is underway.
The new 5,700-capacity all-seater stand will cost 2 million pounds to construct and will incorporate dressing rooms, a media room, control room and wheelchair viewing facilities.
The design team is headed by Cork-based engineering firm Horgan Lynch, the designers of Croke Park, in partnership with local firms Macauley Heaney Quantity Surveyors, O'Hagan & Associates Architects and IN2, M&E Engineers.
The development will bring the overall spend on the Armagh city venue to around 5 million pounds and will brings the ground's capacity to just under 20,000.
