Lakers head for Orchard

Following last weekend's opening night league defeat, Armagh have the chance to get their campaign back on track with a home match against Westmeath at Crossmaglen on Sunday.

Paddy O'Rourke's first league match ended in defeat as Meath took the spoils at Pairc Tailteann last Saturday night, but there was plenty of positives for the new management team to take.

A number of the younger players showed a great spirit in their comeback against the royals and although it fell just short, confidence should be boosted.

Ronan Clarke is unlikely to be fit in time for Sunday's match, but Armagh should still prove too strong for a Westmeath side that look set to struggle in the campaign.

The loss of Dessie Dolan, John Keane, Martin Flanagan, Derek Heavin and Fergal Wilson is a huge blow to the Midlanders and although they too are blooding in new players, they are already one of the favourites for relegation.
