If Sligo are to win the Nicky Rackard Cup on Saturday, then they will need a big performance from one of their most experienced players, Keith Raymond.

And if ever there is a player to step up to the occasion, then it is the long serving forward who was instrumental when Sligo won their only Nicky Rackard Cup title eleven years ago.

This Saturday, Armagh stand in the Yeats County's way of glory for a second year running as Sligo lifted the Lory Meagher Cup at the same venue last year.

Raymond admitted to the Sligo Champion that lining out at Croke Park is every hurler’s dream and despite his experience, he is looking forward to the game as much as if it was his first time there.

“Croke Park is where every hurler wants to be from a young age. It was always my personal dream and I’m sure all the boys on the panel are the same. We’d be watching the telly and you’d see the big teams in Croke Park and you’d always wonder what it would be like to score a point in Croke Park or what it’s like to catch a ball and we get the opportunity to do that Saturday now,” said Raymond.

“For a lot of the lads its just a massive opportunity to showcase their skills so we’re all looking forward to it.”
